We went to Forncett Industrial Steam Museum on the 7th of June for their monthly ‘steam up’ day. What a wonderful museum. It was great to see some old steam engines working, including this monster from Dover that Rowan rescued just before it was scrapped – although he had to pay the scrap value of £1,800 – on HP at £18 a week or month, not sure which. It took 23 years to put back together. And this boiler came from Norwich prison and they had to be locked in while they dismantled it!
