The Museum’s 2018 Summer Exhibition – an in-depth view of the life of Olive Edis FRPS, Sheringham’s pioneering photographer.
There have been a number of recent exhibitions of photographs by Olive Edis, and indeed our exhibition includes the travelling exhibition ‘The Road to Ypres’. She was a great photographer – Fellowships of the Royal Photographic Society are not granted lightly – but there was much more to Ms Edis.
This exhibition highlights the person behind the camera: entrepreneur, adventurer, inventor, public speaker, music lover, at ease with people of every level in society and a caring family member. There are photographs, of course, but this exhibition is about much more.
During the sixteen-week course of this exhibition we will be providing a range of special events and workshops.
