How the land was worked by our forebears in East Anglia

Philip West’s illustrated talk will centre on changes in farming in north Norfolk prior to and after mechanisation. it will cover general farming processes including soil preparation, harvesting crops and in the case of grain, milling, malting and export from north Norfolk ports.

He draws on personal experieinces as a bolgee boy growing up in the farming community of Hindringham in the fifites and sixties, and changes to village life following the huge reduction in the agricultural labour force.
