Join us to hear Stephen Pope’s talk on aviation in Norfolk from the early days of balloon flights through to the modern aircraft from Marham and Norwich.
Events from the First World War with Zeppelin raids and Yarmouth air station, American bombing raids and the post war early jets through to the RAF in Norfolk today.
Norfolk was a major player in aviation in the Second World War with the RAFs 2 Group, their motto:
‘We are the first to arrive and the last to leave; we are second to none …’ .
